To extend broadband connectivity in rural and remote areas, state run telecom company BSNL plans to set up 30,000 broadband kiosks in these regions in next two years on a franchisee basis.
These kiosks would extend broadband connectivity to those who have no alternative access to the facility, and to those who have little to spend on such services.
The telecom company also plans to introduce broadband service on wireless access this year. It plans to set up a three-tier business model to make the broadband enabled services available to the rural population.
