As a Bangalore court has ordered suspension of toll collection from vehicles on Bengaluru International Airport (BIAL) road, vehicles travelled without stoppages at the toll gates on the NH-7 (Bangalore-Bellary Road) leading to BIAL on April 5.
After hearing a petition against Navyug Constructions and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) the Principal Civil Judge in a Devanahalli civil court ordered that no toll should be collected from the public till the case is disposed off. Four lawyers, who had filed the petition, had argued that toll was a burden on the public, particularly farmers who use the road to transport agricultural produce.
The road to BIA, they said, also led to various parts of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
