NC Goel, CMD of Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) confirmed that the Rajasthan government allocated an additional Rs 161 crore for Mansarovar-Chandpol metro link besides the estimated cost of Rs 2,023 crore for the project.
In another development, the state government cleared a Rs 103 crore budget for underground Metro from Chandpol-Bari Chaupar (project B). The government would release the amount in 2013-14. The foundation laying ceremony is scheduled in July.
The entire project (part A & B) is estimated to cost Rs 3,018 crore, including Rs 2,023 crore for part A. Also, JMRC had sought Rs 968 crore loan from the Asian Development Bank.
JMRC had sought an initial loan of Rs 150 crore for underground line. The loan proposal received in-principal approval at a recent meeting of bank, Metro and department of economic affairs officers.
