On September 10, union civil aviation ministry would discuss and finalize the policy of regional connectivity at a meeting of ministers and secretaries of states in New Delhi.
The government introduced several policies and regulations to encourage private participation and investments in the sector.
The government would set up 50 new low-cost airports this year and 50 next year across tier-II and tier-III cities in the country.
These new airports would be set up in cities across Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
