Haryana government has urged bankers to provide finance to beneficiaries of its flagship housing scheme for poor families living in rural and urban areas of the state.
The State government termed the housing scheme as a win-win situation for banks.
The State government, under these two schemes, intends to construct 2.5 lakh houses in the current financial year. At a bankers meeting, Ram Niwas, the State Principal Secretary, Development and Panchayats said that the government has launched a new scheme, each for rural and urban areas for the below poverty line and economically weaker sections of the society.
Under the‘Priyadarshini Awaas Yojna’, the scheme for the rural areas' poor families 100 square-yard land will be provided by the government at subsidised rates. The State intend to construct one lakh houses during the current fiscal year under its flagship housing scheme meant for rural people.
