The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India has said that the Union government should set up a separate cell for overseeing rehabilitation of hydel projects which have suffered huge losses due to the recent calamity in Uttarakhand.
Such cell could be formed in partnership with the Uttarakhand government to rehabilitate the affected hydro power projects, the industry body said.
Assocham president Rana Kapoor said that such cell will ensure that there is no delinquency by any government department in providing relief and concessions. He gave a 10-point strategy for turnaround of hydro power sector in the state.
