Coastal Gujarat Power (CGPL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has synchronised the fourth 800 mw unit at its Mundra power plant in Gujarat. With this, Tata Power’s total power generation capacity has gone up to 7,699 mw, making it the largest integrated power company as well as private power producer in India.
At the Mundra power plant, Tata Power commissioned the first unit of 800 mw in March last year; unit 2 in July and unit 3 in October. With synchronisation of unit 4, the total thermal power generation capacity of Tata Power now stands at 6,847 mw and that through hydropower, wind and solar 852 mw.
