V-Guard to double up capacity of its cable factory

V-Guard Industries is to enhance its capacity of its cable factory in Kashipur in Uttarakhand. This is to strengthen its operations in North and East India. With this, the company will now be able to cater to the increasing demand for V-Guard cables in these regions, said Mithun Chittilappilly, Managing Director. The company had invested Rs 24 crore at Kashipur factory for the initially installed capacity of 3 lakh coils per month.

With an additional capex of Rs 16 crore, the capacity is being doubled. With this new capacity, V-Guard aims to be one among the top four leading brands in India, with a pan-India presence, he said. The Kashipur factory is equipped with latest machinery imported from Germany and the US and has the capacity to produce 6 lakh coils a month.
